EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES

In my spare time, I have been highly involved in the Emergency Medical Services. I have always had an excitement for intense situations at the same time as I've had an excitement for helping people. I discovered EMS to be the perfect combination of the two.

I became part of Multnomah County Search and Rescue. After becoming certified in Search and Rescue I Regularly taught and executed professional grade skills in urban and wilderness search and rescue, natural disaster assistance, crime scene investigation, search typing and planning, medical treatment, body recovery, tracking, map and compass, GPS, rope rescue techniques etc. I also held the position of secretary for a year and maintained all rosters and records for the organization.

Upon leaving for college I was driven to find another way to volunteer and help people. Shortly there after I began to ride for two volunteer ambulance agencies: My university's agency, RPI Ambulance and the neighboring town's agency, North Greenbush Ambulance Association.

As a New York State-certified Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT-B) I provided medical treatment to the ill and injured. I also held the office of Vice President for RPI Ambulance for a year where I completely revamped the organizations training process, personnel and medical records and managed the facilities of the agency.
